"Quality care with attention to detail"
After 27 years in professional child care, former Ofsted Early Years Child Care inspector Steve Urry and his wife, Rachel, have now opened their own private day nursery - 'Hartford Old School House Day Nursery'
We had been looking for somewhere suitable to open a nursery for over two years and had driven past the Old School House building many times before realising it would be the ideal place for our nursery.
The nursery building dates back to 1840 and was rebuilt following the war. It used to be a boys' school and we have had lots of interest from grandparents who want their grandchildren to go there because of the history.
Before the doors were opened we had the building professionally redesigned and refurbished to the highest standard. It now combines the very best of old and new in this delightful school house conversion, providing a homely yet stimulating environment for young children aged 0 to five years.
We have kept some of the original features, like the fireplaces, as it is one of the most historic buildings in the village and we are committed to keeping it that way.
The nursery will be open daily between 8.00am and 6.00pm.
We are both determined to play an important part in the community and plan to arrange lots of fundraising events in the future.
